Dear Sacs Family and Friends!
I hope you have all had a wonderful summer! My summer started with Ms. Lovely and I going to a class focused on innovation. It was so fun being the student and learning new skills that will be used this year to start our own innovation program here on campus! We are excited to be starting on this adventure which is not only highly academic, but will benefit our students, school, and community! We will be looking for individuals to join us on our adventure! More to come…
It wasn’t all work for me as I also had the opportunity to take a vacation. My husband and I went to visit our “daughter” in Norway. She had lived with us as an exchange student 12 years ago and is living back in Norway with her husband and two children! We enjoyed our visit and even got to see the Midnight Sun! Yup, no darkness where we were!
I and recently returned to campus. It feels so good to be on campus and see the progress being made! The old trailer that was out back was taken away this summer leaving our campus safer and more secure. Painting of the exterior walls has helped beautify the campus, and I am excited to also report that we are in the final stages of getting the kitchen up and running!
Our first campus event is this Sunday, July 27th. (See flyer) This is NOT just an event for those raising money. I would love everyone of you to join us in supporting our students! Invite your friends and family too! The movie and splash pad are free! Food and drinks will be for sale to support students as they begin the school year.
Blessings!
Karen Dunbar, Principal
WELCOMENEWSTAFF!
Welcome Ms. Mimi!
Ms. Mimi will be joining us on August 22nd! She will be splitting her time between the office and the classrooms. We are happy to say that she will be in the classrooms during math time so that the classroom teacher can focus on teaching each individual grade while Ms. Mimi circulates and answers questions of those who are doing more independent work. She shared with me the following fun facts: 1. I love to take my dog to coffee shops and anywhere that allows dogs! We have lots of doggie dates. 2. My favorite place I’ve ever traveled to is Japan! I’m counting down the days until I can go back! 3. I’m Romanian! 4. I love running. I’m currently training for my second half marathon! and 5. My favorite color is yellow!
Welcome Mr. Ajit!
Some of you may recognize Mr. Ajit, Ms. Lovely’s husband! He joined our staff this summer as our custodian and is doing a wonderful job preparing our campus for school to start! He will be working after school hours to make sure our campus looks clean and neat. He shared the following facts: “I like to play outdoor games! My hobbies are cooking, gardening, and hiking! I like to keep things clean and neat like my mother taught me!” We have already benefited from his cleaning skills on campus and are pleased to welcome him to our staff!
After School Care and Substitutes!
We are still searching for willing individuals to join our team either part-time or on-call. We need someone who loves children to work with us as a part-time after-school-care provider. This is a regular after-school position Monday – Thursday. We also are looking for substitute teachers, on-call office staff, and on-call janitorial workers. All those interested can call me at 209-202-9405, come to the office, or email me at karen.dunbar@sachristianschool.org.
